Vtg Fratelli Fanciullacci Raffaellesco Dragon Majolica Pitcher Signed FF Italy
Up for sale is a highly collectible Vintage Mid-Century Italian Majolica Coffee Pot (Ewer), hand-painted by the renowned Fratelli Fanciullacci pottery studio in Montelupo/Florence, Italy, circa 1950s.
This rare piece features the authentic, hand-written "FF" maker's mark along with "MADE IN ITALY" on the base, ensuring its provenance for art pottery collectors.
The vessel is beautifully decorated in the classical Raffaellesco style, a traditional Renaissance-revival motif showcasing the iconic winged dragon (symbolizing good luck) and the Florentine Fleur-de-lis, framed by vibrant ochre yellow, green, and iron-red glazes.
The upper neck features a whimsical, hand-written French inscription adapted from Talleyrand's famous aphorism on coffee:
"Noir comme le diable, l'enfer, un ange, l'amour pour le café"
(Black as the devil, hell, an angel, love for coffee).
A truly stunning piece of mid-century Italian studio art pottery, perfect for display or rustic European kitchen decor.
