This is a rare and highly collectible pair of vintage Mid-Century Modern (MCM) terracotta clay planters manufactured by the renowned U.S. Pottery (Made in the USA). This matching set includes one large (approx. 17") and one medium-large (approx. 13") pot.
Featuring a thick, substantial rolled rim and a beautiful warm brown/terracotta glossy glazed exterior with a natural clay interior, these planters offer the quintessential 1950s-1970s California architectural garden aesthetic. Condition
- Smaller Pot: Features a few shallow surface chips on the exterior side (approx. 0.25" or smaller), which do not affect structural integrity and add to its vintage patina. The bottom is clearly stamped with "U.S. POTTERY 12 MADE IN USA".
- Larger Pot: Shows natural age-appropriate wear including some white calcium/mineral build-up near the base and interior soil residue. The bottom stamp is faint/hard to read due to wear but is safely attributed as "U.S. POTTERY MADE IN USA" based on the identical construction, glaze, and form.
- Overall: Both planters have built-in center drainage holes. No major structural cracks. Excellent, heavy-duty vintage condition with great rustic character. Please review all photos for close-up details.
