This is a rare and beautiful vintage studio pottery strawberry jar/planter handcrafted in California by Stoneware Designs West (SDW), dating back to the 1970s.
It features an iconic Mid-Century Modern earthy aesthetic with a rich, matte brown stoneware glaze. Designed with a generous top opening and 9 individual planting pockets around the bulbous body, this versatile piece is perfect for growing succulents, herbs, small cacti, or strawberries. It serves as both a functional garden planter and a stunning boho-chic interior decor piece. The original orange paper maker's label ("STONEWARE HANDCRAFTED IN CALIFORNIA BY STONEWARE DESIGNS WEST SDW") remains intact on the unglazed base.
