This garden stool is in remarkable vintage shape, showcasing wonderful artisan craftsmanship.
- Structure & Sides: The main body and sides are exceptionally clean. There are NO chips, cracks, structural breaks, or past repairs to the ceramic. The hand-painted enamels and gold gilt remain vibrant and highly detailed.
- Top Surface: Shows minor, light cosmetic surface scuffs/wear consistent with age and gentle use (such as displaying a plant or decor).
-
Glaze Texture: Features a beautiful, intentional crackle glaze effect (貫入 / Crazing)
under the gloss finish, which is a foundational requirement of authentic traditional Satsuma ware. The rich matte details and raised textures are a natural result of the hand-applied Moriage technique (not a modern flat-printed reproduction).
- Base: The unglazed bottom rim is flat, stable, and already fitted with white felt pads to protect your floors from scratches.
