This is a rare, vintage "REX" brand Italian Antipasto tin/glass container, specially packed in Italy for the iconic Southern California import chain "The Akron" based in Los Angeles, California. Active from 1947 to 1985, The Akron was famous for carrying eclectic and unique imported goods.
The lithographed lid features a stunning classical Roman chariot motif with vibrant red, yellow, and green tones. The border lists traditional antipasto ingredients including tuna, sardines, celery, artichokes, onions, olives, and mushrooms.

Condition
- Overall: Well-preserved vintage condition with age-appropriate wear, scratches, and patina.
- Lid: There are visible scratches, small scuffs, and minor litho loss near the "REX" logo and on the yellow sections (Please see close-up photos).
- Glass Base: No cracks or chips. There is some old adhesive residue or dried contents visible around the rim/edge where the metal meets the glass (Please refer to photos).
