Vintage Pair of Chinese Blue & White Porcelain Pillows - "Lounging Boys"
This is a pair of reclining boy figures decorated in traditional blue-and-white underglaze.
Though mirrored in design, the two figures are distinguished by their hairstyles: one with a single topknot, symbolizing innocence, and the other with three knots, representing growth, prosperity, and the auspicious concept of "duo zi duo fu" (many sons, many blessings).
The porcelain body is evenly white, with bright cobalt-blue painting. The hollow bases with oval openings are characteristic of late Qing to early Republic of China porcelain, likely from Jingdezhen kilns.
Estimated Date: Late Qing to Early Republic of China (late 19th - early 20th century), Jingdezhen ware
