Vintage Micaceous Clay Pottery Bear Figurine Primitive Folk Art Effigy Animal

Sale price$24.00

This is a charming, primitive hand-sculpted clay figurine of a standing animal, likely a bear clutching a fish or an object to its chest. The most striking feature of this piece is the material: it is made from micaceous clay, which gives the entire surface a beautiful, natural silvery glitter and sparkle. This rustic effigy or fetish-style piece carries a strong tribal aesthetic and is highly reminiscent of Native American (Pueblo) pottery or traditional Mexican indigenous folk art. A wonderful, earthy collectible with a lot of character.
