Vintage Mexican Hand-Painted Terracotta Storage Jar/ Folk Art Pottery

Sale price$38.00

Overall: approx. 9"L × 8"W × 5.75"H Weight: 3.2 lb

This is a beautiful vintage Mexican hand-painted terracotta jar, originally made with a fitted lid (now missing). It features charming floral and leaf motifs in earthy tones of brown, cream, green, and blue on a warm terracotta body. The form widens toward the base, giving it a stable, grounded silhouette, with two small loop handles on opposite sides.

Signed "Mexico", this piece is typical of mid-20th century Tonalá or Jalisco folk pottery, often used as a kitchen storage vessel for beans, grains, or spices. The interior shows signs of prior use, and there are minor surface scuffs and paint wear consistent with age, adding to its authentic rustic charm.

A lovely decorative accent for Southwestern, Hacienda, or Boho interiors, and also suitable as a planter or utensil holder.

Estimated age: circa 1950s-1970s
Origin: Mexico (Tonalá / Jalisco region)
Condition: Vintage; lid missing, light wear consistent with age.
