Vintage Mexican Barro Negro Black Clay Pottery Tripod Bowl Oaxaca Ruffled Footed
Item Description
This is a gorgeous vintage Mexican "Barro Negro" (Black Clay) pottery tripod mini bowl / footed planter, hand-sculpted in Oaxaca, Mexico.
The piece features a dramatic and elegant ruffled/fluted upper rim that contrasts beautifully with its rustic, hand-formed tripod legs. It has a hand-incised "Mexico" mark on the bottom, alongside the yellowed remnants of a vintage paper merchant sticker, adding authentic mid-to-late 20th-century character.
Barro Negro gets its iconic deep charcoal/ebony hue purely from the raw local clay and a traditional reduction-firing process without any artificial glazes. It makes a perfect global chic centerpiece, catchall dish for keys or jewelry, smudge/incense burner, or a rustic boho planter.
