Up for sale is a gorgeous piece of vintage Americana—a rare vintage small aquarium/terrarium tank, dating approximately from the 1940s to the 1960s. This tank features a highly desirable art deco / mid-century modern aesthetic, highlighted by a unique shiny silver metal frame that elegantly tapers (narrows) toward the top.
Constructed with heavy glass and wrapped in a classic chrome-plated or stainless steel metal border, it represents the golden era of fish keeping. Sealed with the original black asphaltum-style aquarium putty, this tank is perfect for retro aquarium hobbyists, aquatic plant aquascaping, high-end terrariums, or as an industrial-chic vintage display showcase.

- Water-Tested: Successfully tested for water-holding capability with NO leaks found.
- Frame & Glass: Shows beautiful vintage patina. There are minor scratches, scuffs, and slight pitting on the silver metal frames consistent with age. The glass panels show light handling marks but remain clear and presentable.
- Internal Putty: The original black inner packing/putty has degraded due to age. If you wipe or rub the black interior sealant with a towel, it will leave black residue on the cloth. It holds water fine as-is, but please handle it with care or consider applying a modern clear aquarium silicone over it if you plan on heavy, daily aquatic use.
