💡 Item Description
An authentic vintage Gainey Ceramics C-8 cylindrical pottery planter from La Verne, California. This piece represents the pinnacle of mid-century modern architectural pottery, featuring clean minimalist lines and a gorgeous matte earthy brown glaze. The bottom is clearly stamped with the iconic mark: "GAINEY CERAMICS LAVERNE CALIF USA C-8".
PLEASE NOTE: This item is being sold strictly "AS-IS" for repair or decorative use.
The planter suffered a significant break near the bottom/base area and has been glued back together. However, the broken section was reattached slightly misaligned/offset, creating a visible seam and gap. Because of this, the planter leaks water and cannot hold moisture directly.
It remains a highly collectible piece of California art pottery history and is perfect as a decorative cachepot (using a plastic liner inside), a container for faux/dry plants, a unique studio display prop, or a project piece for professional restoration.
