Vintage Ethiopian Leather Drum Flat Hand Drum 2pc Set Sebata Folk Art Painted Wall
This is a rare and highly collectible 2-piece set of vintage authentic Ethiopian tribal folk art drums, entirely hand-crafted and hand-painted by local artists in Sebeta, a small village located just outside Addis Ababa.
The collection includes one traditional cylinder-shaped hand drum with a carrying strap and one coordinating flat hand drum (frame drum style) featuring an integrated twine loop on the reverse for easy wall hanging. Both pieces are meticulously made with stretched genuine goat rawhide over a wooden frame, secured with hand-stitched leather lacing.
The vibrant, expressive multi-sided paintings feature traditional Ethiopian Orthodox iconographic aesthetics, showcasing unique almond-eyed figures, local life, and ethnic activities such as a woman weaving by a Mesob (traditional bread basket). A beautiful addition to any collection of African tribal art, ethnographic artifacts, or rustic bohemian interior decor.
