Description
This is a striking vintage Chinese terracotta jardiniere / flower pot planter featuring a magnificent Chinoiserie aesthetic. The piece showcases a beautiful contrast between the vibrant, deep emerald green glaze and the warm, unglazed rich orange-brown terracotta clay.
The exterior body is highly decorated with dramatic, high-relief raised carvings featuring twin mystical celestial dragons, beautiful blooming peony flowers, and traditional stylized guardian lion/taotie mask faux ring handles. The upper rim is encircled by a classic geometric key fret border pattern. Crafted with a heavy, thick ceramic wall and equipped with one central drainage hole at the bottom. A phenomenal statement piece for Asian art collectors, eclectic home decor, or traditional garden displays.
