This is an authentic Vintage B.F. McDonald Co. Aluminum Full Brim Hard Hat / Safety Helmet, originally manufactured in Los Angeles, California. Highly sought after by collectors of industrial history, vintage tools, and early Americana protective gear, this iconic piece was widely used by Pacific Northwest loggers, miners, and steelworkers in the mid-20th century.
It features the classic mid-century protective design with distinctive vertical ridges on the crown and a protective full brim. The underside of the brim is clearly stamped with:
"PATENTS PENDING / B.F. McDONALD CO. / LOS ANGELES" along with U.S. Patent markings (No. 2177145 and No. D118432).

- Surface: Overall scratches, scuffs, light surface oxidation, and a beautiful aged aluminum patina consistent with age.
- Dents: There is one noticeable small ding/dent on the front upper slope of the dome. No major structural cracks or splits.
- Markings: A faint, faded handwritten name "DAVE" in marker remains on the front brim area from the original worker.
- Interior: The original internal mounting brackets/rivets for the liner remain intact.
