Vintage 1930s Dazey Churn Model B Cast Iron Top Sunbeam Mixmaster Glass Jar Rare
Up for auction/sale is a fascinating piece of 1930s Americana showcasing true Depression-era homestead resourcefulness: an Authentic 1930s Vintage Dazey Hand-Crank Mechanism on a Sunbeam Mixmaster Glass Churn Jar.
This unique setup is a historically accurate example of "make do and mend" from early American rural life. The square pressed-glass jar is an original, featuring a crisp embossed logo reading "Sunbeam MIXMASTER CHURN". During the 1930s, resource-savvy homemakers discovered that the screw-top thread diameter of this Sunbeam jar perfectly matched the heavy cast-iron hand-crank gear assembly from DAZEY (Model B / 34B series).
Inside, the original dual-winged wooden paddle is remarkably well-preserved. This is a 100% genuine antique piece—not a modern reproduction. The naturally aged cast iron patina, the heavy wavy texture of the vintage glass, and the working-class repair history give this kitchen collectible a brilliant rustic character that cannot be artificially faked. A premier addition for any collector of primitive country kitchenalia or Americana.

Condition Report
This item is in honest, time-honored antique condition with incredible working-class provenance. Sold as-is for decorative/display purposes.
-
Period Repair (Authentic Patina): The metal pin securing the cast iron gear to the wooden paddle shaft (originally a factory rivet) was repaired during its working life using a vintage nail—carefully inserted, bent, and clipped short. Heavy remnants of old machine grease inside indicate the machine was heavily utilized in this exact modified state.
-
Mechanism: The cast iron gears engage properly. When cranked, the clipped nail head catches slightly about once every 5 rotations.
-
Glass Jar: Excellent antique condition with no structural cracks, chips, or major flea bites. The embossed lettering remains very sharp and clear.
