This piece combines the hand-painted ceramic craftsmanship of Royal Doulton (England) with a
Ronson butane lighter insert
made in Woodbridge, N.J., USA.
The jug depicts a sly country poacher with a fish as the handle — a classic example of Doulton's humorous character ware.
Base marked:
"The Poacher" Copr. 1954 Doulton & Co. Limited / Made in England
plus multiple registered design numbers.
The lighter is stamped
"RONSON Woodbridge N.J. U.S.A."
on the underside.
The flint has been removed, so the lighter is
untested
, but overall
excellent cosmetic condition
with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
