MCM Vintage Bennington Potters 1844 Terracotta Square Planter Cachepot David Gil
Up for sale is a beautiful Mid-Century Modern vintage terracotta square planter/cachepot manufactured by the renowned Bennington Potters in Bennington, Vermont.
This minimalist, geometric cube piece was designed by company founder David Gil, featuring his signature "dg" incised mark on the bottom along with the official stamp "bennington potters 1844 bennington vermont".
Unlike their more common glazed stoneware, this piece showcases the raw, organic beauty of unglazed terracotta clay with a rich earthy orange hue. It is highly versatile and can be used as a small plant pot, succulent cachepot, candle holder, or a stylish desktop organizer for mid-century design enthusiasts.

Condition Report
- Overall Condition: Good Vintage Condition with signs of character and age.
- Details: The piece is structurally sound with no major cracks. As expected with vintage unglazed earthenware, there are minor flea bites/tiny chips along the top edges, and faint soil residue/mild white mineral deposits on the interior walls from previous use. Please note: 3 aftermarket felt pads were added to the bottom by a previous owner to prevent scratching, meaning one corner currently lacks a pad. These can easily be removed if desired. The incised makers mark remains clearly legible. Please inspect all high-resolution photos carefully as they form part of the description.
