An exquisite example of a late 19th to early 20th-century Chinoiserie-style octagonal parlour table. This piece features the elegant Edwardian-era silhouette of an eight-sided top supported by intricate openwork legs. The lower shelf is uniquely adorned with carved dragon (or mythical beast) motifs at each corner, appearing to hold the shelf in their jaws. This table is a sophisticated representation of the Orientalist trend that swept through Victorian and Edwardian high society.
