This is an original Hale & Kilburn seat back pivot bracket that serves as a critical structural component in vintage train seating. As shown in the 2nd image, this bracket is mounted on the lower side of the seat backrest, connecting the reclining backrest mechanism to the seat base. It provides the pivot point that allows the seat back to be adjusted or reversed while maintaining stability. The four mounting holes secure the bracket to both the backrest frame and the seat base.

The bracket is made of iron or steel (it responds to magnets) or possibly a mixed metal composition. It features original gold and black, blue paint finishes, which show authentic wear with some areas of paint chipping and rust spots that reflect its age and historical use.
