The production of hygienic bedpans was carried out from 1900 to 1930. They were produced in small, medium and large sizes. Due to the high quality, the manufacturer had the right to write on each product: The Most Comfortable and Sanitary Bed-Pan in the World.
"The "Perfection" bedpan is anatomically correct in shape, and causes no uncomforatble pressure against the spine. It is a combines bed and douche pan. It is sanitary and is easily emptied from the wide, open space at one end, thereby saving time and disagreeable work for the nurse." [The American Journal of Nursing, Volume 11, 1911]
In 1911 the "Perfection" bedpan was available in a standard and small size, in porcelain and in grey or white enamelware. The price ran from $2.25 for the small porcelain to $4.50 for standard white enamel.
