Antique Ottoman Kemer Silver Belt Buckle Pafta 2 Pieces Early 20th
This is an authentic pair of antique/vintage traditional Balkan "Pafta" (or Chaprazi) belt buckles, dating back to the late Ottoman Empire period or early 20th century. These teardrop/paisley-shaped metal plates were traditionally worn by women across the Balkan region (Bulgaria, Greece, North Macedonia, and Serbia) to secure festive and bridal costume sashes.
Each piece features a hand-hammered repoussé center depicting a stylized floral rosette encircled by a textured border. Historically, these pieces were filled with a base metal core for weight and structural support, then sewn directly onto fabric belts. This matching pair possesses a striking historical look, making it an excellent addition to an ethnographic jewelry collection or a perfect components for repurposing into unique statement pendants.
