This is an exceptional, highly authentic 19th-Century New England Primitive / Shaker Style Single Side Table. It features classic construction details reminiscent of the early 1820s-1850s American country furniture. A fascinating historical detail is found on the inner apron frame, which features two early artisan pocket-hole recesses (currently hollow).
Given that the tabletop is currently secured with top-down nails and is beautifully offset from the leg frame by approximately 1" to 1.75", this piece showcases a wonderful "Period Repair"—indicating the tabletop was likely replaced or refastened by an early owner in the late 19th or early 20th century using seasoned country wood. The table is remarkably lightweight for its size, a definitive trait of old-growth native American wood that has completely seasoned over a century.
To ensure maximum durability for modern everyday use, past owners have reinforced some of the joint connections with wood glue/bond, making this table incredibly sturdy, stable, and ready to be used as a functional nightstand or end table without any wobbling.

- Construction & History: Features two historic, hollow pocket-holes inside the apron. The tabletop is fastened with top-down nails and is artisan-offset from the frame by 1" to 1.75", exhibiting an authentic early period-repair/tabletop refastinement.
- Stability: Some joints show signs of older glue/bond reinforcement from past maintenance, rendering the entire frame very solid, tight, and functionally sturdy.
- Tabletop Surface: Shows a distinct longitudinal scratch running through the center, along with scattered historic scuffs, dings, and surface character marks from generations of use.
- Under-edge & Feet: One heavy vintage indentation/gouge is present on the bottom lip/underside edge of one table corner (does not affect stability). Fitted with aftermarket white rubber/plastic floor glides for floor protection.
