Alva Museum Replica ENVOL by Max LE VERRIER Windswept Woman (Has Damage)

Sale price$60.00

"The sculpture has a crack at the ankle area, showing evidence of a previous break that has been repaired with adhesive. There is a noticeable scratch on the head. Please see the photos for details."
This streamlined Art Deco style sculpture beautifully captures a female figure in graceful motion, with wind-swept drapery flowing around her form. This is a replica of "ENVOL" (meaning Flight or Soaring) designed by renowned French sculptor Max Le Verrier (1891-1973). The original design was also used as an automobile hood ornament (car mascot) in the 1920s. Cast in a bronzed alvastone composition (a specialized reproduction material) and mounted on a black marble base, the sculpture bears the marks "A.M.R." (Alva Museum Replicas) and the number "1975," likely indicating its year of manufacture. There is evidence of repair at the ankle area, requiring careful handling.
